The packages with C bindings I always run into are Postgres and MySQL libraries. On Ubuntu this is easy. On OS X it is a bit of a pain. That's really about the extent of the pain.

The packages with C bindings I always run into are Oracle and MySQL libraries. On OS X this is easy. On Ubuntu it is a bit of a pain.
