Web designers realised they were excluding very large numbers of people by using tiny fonts. They decided to be more inclusive. The old cry "Just zoom in" excludes a bunch of people.

The new cry "Just zoom out" is less discriminatory.

In general I prefer big fonts with a 1.5 line spacing.
