I could have guessed this would turn into a massive flamefest, but c'mon people. So what if he's green? This will be a learning experience for him. And I'll hazard that in the end, even if he never ends up writing a whole OS from scratch, that he will have gained more valuable low level experience than the vast majority of those here.
