Poor explanation since ~50% stock is owned by institutions.
I think retail holds 38% of ownership.
Rest of ownership is mostly Elon ~13%.
indexed fund ownership doesn't explain institutional holdings. Tesla is 5% of NASDAQ 100 by market cap. Vanguard owns 7.7%, BlackRock owns 6.4%.
