Environmental monitoring doesn't have to be part of the UPS. And APC has long made separate devices for that, for data centers/racks. In addition to the modern IoT home devices.
Oh sure, I'm just thinking in the realm of HN... perhaps it's more common than average! But having a networked UPS is non-negotiable for me, as far as I'm concerned it's no use if the servers power off hard anyways. It's on a VLAN without internet access so really not much risk either.
