I think Windows Phone should be counted as hardware as well - there were other manufacturers whose devices (a few but still) ran that OS. I had htc and Lumia and I really liked these and the software which was quite intuitive to use. Sadly, the interest in that platform was low. IIRC Microsoft was working on solution for porting Android apps into Windows Phone/ 10 Mobile but they eventually postponed it indefinitely and then dropped fully.
I wonder how much data they gathered thru all these killed off projects, and which projects were created solely for that purpose
I think with these types of sites, it might be a good idea to include a "succeeded by" entry for products that were more superseded than killed. I assume most people these days prefer VSCode to Atom, for example.
I like these sites for info on things that were killed with no viable replacement, e.g. Yahoo! Pipes
