Just so it's abundantly clear: Yet again, this was the result of a weapons program and has absolutely nothing to do with energy production.


Indeed: From the Manhattan Project, no less.


This reads as something I could believe out of Afghanistan after the war, with a useless government, not from a rich modern country. What's even worse are the sites around the world with this exact same behaviour but to non-US citizens and land. As long as every one of these sites (including the thousands of barrels dumped in the sea) aren't 100% cleaned up I'll fight tooth and nail against any kind of nuclear -energy or weapons- inside and outside the law if necessary. Luckily there aren't much of this around here in most of Scandinavia, yet, but a few protests have been necessary so far.
