Be warned that sshfs uses sftp underneath, which doesn't like latency too much, so potential bandwidth is greatly reduced over the internet. If you want fast file transfers, try scp or rsync.

of course, I use scp and ssh tunneling quite regularly. I just like the concept of sshfs, will need to play with that and see how it could be useful
