Work Not Welfare Is Key to Escaping Poverty (cato.org)

This is a propaganda piece written by a propaganda outlet

The negative effects of welfare cliffs are real. I've known several people who perhaps could have gone back to work but didn't because they feared losing their welfare. It's not crazy to suggest that there could be a better system

Cato clearly has an ideological bent, but it's not propaganda. They don't just make shit up, they're not Fox News or something

> Cato clearly has an ideological bent, but it's not propaganda

It is literally propaganda.

> They don't just make shit up

They do, but that’s not required to be propaganda. Distortion by cherrt picking is a popular propaganda technique, for instance.

> they're not Fox News or something

No, they aren’t the popular propagands media, true. They are aimed at a different core audience.

Nothing in this comment has explained why we should ignore the Cato institute or the findings in its article.

“It’s ideologically misaligned with me, therefore it is propaganda” is really difficult for many of us to follow.

This comment is hardly more sophisticated than the comments of Trump supporters about CNN and other "mAinSTReam MedIa" outlets (at least you allege they cherry pick data).

Yes, pushing people to work to get out of poverty is evil propaganda.

Let me guess, you think “the Jews” are behind this?

The Cato institute is one of those "think tanks" that is actually a business-backed lobby group.

It supports "libertarian" and "rightwing" positions and is linked to Charles Koch and his late brother David.

They also fund the some of the US's Christian right-wing politicians.

So your ignorant and insulting guess is way, way off.
