I don't see what does it to differently from usual keyboards, other than letters flying all around the screen, which don't add any new functionality. Maybe video just doesn't cover that? What's different about your keyboard, what can it do better that your typical Gboard can't?

This is exactly what it does. Tuning.

Looks distracting

It’s goal is to make it possible for non Samsung users to apply typing effects to their devices. In fact Samsung has presented their keyboard effects after mine. My keyboard has been around since the end of 2013 and non of other keyboards’ typing effects has existed until then. Today people choose Samsung brand very frequently only because of that feature.

> Today people choose Samsung brand very frequently only because of that feature.

I would need to see some data about this.

What kind of data would you like to see on that?

And just to make sure, what it is your interest?

How do you know anyone choses Samsung over others based on keyboard effects?

Read about generative grammar, when you’ll have enough passion about linguistics you’ll be able to understand common sense such as why do people make such choices and you’ll be able to find them by yourself, without my help. As of being distracting, I won’t comment. But in general visual effects are made to make people happy. So smile. It hurts only the first couple of times, afterwards you starting enjoy a good laugh and other people happy.

Because I was a kid.

There are things that you an I know from the very beginning, from the very birth. We distinguish those things and perceive different stuff differently. But for you what now is disturbing is just a matter of perception. All people love music. People go to live concerts. But I for instance will never go to a live concert even if I get paid. So this is perception. We all love music but we perceive it in a different way.

Everyone loves animations, colors, movement, smoothness, graphics. And you and I know that if you’d been to chosen between Windows 95/2000 L&F and Apple’s liquid L&F that you want lick, you’d choose the later.

This is common sense. What in generative grammar is called given by birth. A language that everyone knows and the one we speak and understand though non verbally the moment we form into the world.

The same day and at the same moment you and I had a different history. We’ve been into different places and into different occasions. What’s being alive for me is not the same thing as being alive for you, though those are two very indifferent things. Being alive is being alive. But when one person has been into a sad occasion for him being alive is being sad. But being sad does not mean not being alive. It’s just in this other language alive has a different word. And this word is “Deep”. Those are deep feelings, but by no mean they are not non alive feelings. It’s just a different language. And this is perception.

Everyone loves moving parts. But you for instance in that matter it’d be just something different. But not with a different meaning, just in a different language. Despite you won’t like the flying letters, you won’t resist the tiny button animations this keyboard has on the corners of its buttons. And while the flying letters can be turned off. This is what EffectedKeyboard (the codename behind FKeyboard) does and this is exactly what I’m trying to do with modern Android phones and the Eco System on mobile devices overall. To make you want feel alive. Without the obligations, the authorities, the taxes, the money and the banks accounts. To make you feel you’re breaking the rules. To pass you the feeling of quality, of something important. Alive. Of a kid. Of a child. Of yourself. Of animation.

I was only explaining what the other user was asking about. When he said:

> I would need to see some data about this.

He wanted to know if there is actual data about people choosing one device over another based on keyboard effects. I admit I am curious as well, distracting or not is subjective after all, and based on the flashing RGB keyboards out there I am not doubting that you will have some interested users.

Ah, got ya, I thought you guys were trying to kill me.

Regarding Samsung, you know once you’re familiar with something you just know the way that things work.

I know that in America everyone relies on data, but in fact the most impactful businessmen in the world lean on intuition and give Hindi as an example for a place where people just know things. Where people rely on themselves rather than on numbers. Data lies, numbers as well. Intuition never lies.

As of myself I indeed understand the situation with Samsung Cafe keyboard and it’s been a trend for quite a time. See reference, Pixel’s voice function that Google did. It’s available only on Pixel to choose Google’s Pixel over other phones. Samsung did it as well.

My goal eventually is to be attractive enough to do the same thing on the business side level as well.
