We won't ever be free until we can manufacture computers at home just like we can write our own software at home. Right now, manufacturing computer hardware requires billions of dollars. Governments will target these centralized operations. We must decentralize hardware manufacturing.

And outlaw phones won't likely be allowed on local phone networks. :P

LTE is quite standardized, although VoLTE is far from it. IMEIs can be spoofed. VoIP numbers are a thing (e.g. voip.ms, or google voice if you can go without emergency services).

I forget if IMEI spoofing is a felony. So much policy on the books it would take me months to know for sure.
