I have found when older workers are not popular with leaders it makes a statement about the leaders, not us old folks. Some leaders don't like having knowledgeable, experienced people around who have enough talent to critique their decisions and leadership styles. They don't want mentors, they don't want critique, they want to control their organizations. So they don't like old folk who have been around enough to see through whatever persona they are projecting and see them as just another person doing a job.

Other leaders love having experienced talent around. But if a leader doesn't want me, I honestly see it more as someone who has their own issues to work through, not a negative statement on my talents.
