I think it's expected to look fine most of the time. But since the author isn't developing it locally, but rather updating the live site and seeing how things go, sometimes they will stuff up.
It's still nicely readable on both my old, cheap android tablet and my desktop. Kudos to the author for using good basic styles, even while reworking things.
