The Mozilla Foundation really shot themselves in the foot. Non-profits don't do well when the emulate for-profit businesses and chase money.

I know some people who work at a non profit theatre. The theatre has been in danger of going out of business for years and may disappear this year. The audience halls were always almost empty even though the plays were important and about serious topics. Think 20% capacity. If they had sold more tickets, chasing money a tiny bit more, they could have reached more people and would not be in such dire straights recently (before Covid)

This is the second engineer I respect leaving Mozilla, not through their own choice.

I'm hoping I'm wrong, but this is possibly the point of no return for them.
