Wide scrollbars are a blessing. Better to lose a couple pixels, a fraction of a percent of screen space, than have to constantly line up your cursor over a tiny, yet essential and frequently-used UI tool. I can't stand those dainty little ovals on Mac OS, it's like having to constantly slow down whatever I'm trying to do to thread a needle. It blows my mind that everyone is constantly trying to throw away effortlessly responsive function for such stupidly picky details of form, according to an arbitrary standard of pure aesthetics. Scrollbars should always remain visible and wide.
