I hope they spend some of that money on adding features to their API marketplace. I've been a provider of a paid API for about 2 years now, and I don't think I've seen any improvements over that time. They're probably focusing on Kong, which apparently is where the money is.
They've always been very responsive and helpful whenever an issue came up - but I think with a few changes, those issues wouldn't come up anymore.
We were in similar boat but moved to Kong. Mashape offers lots of features for free but still essentials missing. I think focusing on Kong and neglecting Mashape is a good strategy for them. Pricewise Kong is still better then competitors.
I remember meeting the founder in the demo pit of TechCrunch 50 back in 2008. Remarkable perseverance. Happy to see it work for people who stick it out.
Mashape folks are fantastic. Remember augusto pitching in 2011. Cant help but be happy for the guy. Part i dont understand is how A16z funded Rapidapis.com and now Mashape. Is it not a clear conflict?
