Problem only in the sense that it's an "instability" in humans recognized by a sufficiently advanced AI. Instead of needing to evolve to the point of understanding emotions, all it has to understand is how to get around when humans are being irrational.

I suspect emotional range may be the last thing to develop because it's not technically needed to evolve past the point of human intelligence.
