For me, yes and no. It does serve its purpose to an extent, but knowing a bit about the founder (nothing too personal, maybe your name, a small paragraph and your twitter handle) gives me confidence there is a real human behind, I feel safer knowing there are people not afraid to hide and potentially available to solve any problems I have.

Great idea! Congrats on shipping, that's the hardest part! Site looks great. Just something I noticed, images from the blog took a bit to load, and they could be optimized (will also save you bandwidth). I recommend doing this for all images though. Search for tinyjpg or similar free sites, it will compress the images without losing much on quality.
