The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and return it to your safe

that's terrible, a low level read would've recovered it. I hope the story ended up well for you anyway

Thanks. I learned a lot from those adventures, which was the main aim.

At the time, those computers had no hard drives or larger capacity disks. So my avenues for recovery and further progress were limited.

Reality decided I had learned enough in that direction, is a teleological interpretation. But also a realistic viewpoint.

I have no regrets.

Today (literally today) I am working on a grammar/parser that allows exploration of some interesting math I came up with. The beauty of being able to navigate an abstract world with real complexity, seek and encounter genuine surprises, interactively at the speed of keystrokes, captures a lot of the joy of those games! With the addition of a crafting element.

if you dont get an answer, well, with all the page flipping and dictionary work already required, adding google lens on top of the process should not be a huge deal. these books basically taught me research skills without me even knowing. it's valuable to learn to ingest information in other languages and we can do so today in a way we could not do 40 years ago.

here's the PDF of the cave, you can choose to download it or if you're a masochist and want carpeltunnelsyndrome you can use the flipping ui here. https://pubhtml5.com/obber/cznb/

if the bag was dropped in a forest would it make a sound? or just void your warranty… what's the sound of one hand clapping? Answer: OP's blog

My laptop stand is a repurposed cardboard wine delivery box, plain brown corrugated. been using it for seven years. Each side is covered with notes: my contact data for different regions, feature ideas, architecture sketches, even little 'zen' reminders for dealing with daily inbound slop, like "if you can read this, you are getting paid for this."

It has three usable heights (standing, sitting, with/without external keyboard) and actually prevents neck and eye strain.

Today’s new note for the 'zen' side: 'This box is not the ultimate laptop stand. Do not blog about it.' 0% joking. Well except for the zen note.. that was the joke

Commander Hutchinson, is that you?

In the same camp as you. Perfect phone form factor.

I've worked several disaster responses, and in my experience, many individuals who need FEMA assistance often face challenges like illiteracy or disabilities that make using email and other essential tasks difficult (impossible without constant and regular help). Its not possible to force everyone to use only one method of communication and the nature of a disaster may render email unusable as well. Disaster response can and should be very strongly prepared to handle the widest variety of situations and outages, especially when pertaining to communication. We are all at a higher risk otherwise.

And I would imagine that with the EO making English the language of the US, that even more people will struggle with government services as we get deeper into the term of 47.
