Is it a humidity problem? in our climate in the Med all kinds of plastic, pu and rubberised materials will just start cracking and flaking after a year or two.

About page on OPs blog says Singapore, so yeah.

PU is especially vulnerable to degradation via hydrolysis.

This is in the most recent Windows 10 update, a lot of my PDF downloads have stopped previewing. It affects any PDF, not just PDFs downloaded since the update. It seems completely random, as some PDFs still preview.

This is great. I'm not going to make any argument. Because I am an AI hater.Genius.

weird. I just checked a random couple of paragraphs with 4 detector tools and they all come out 0% AI

I wish I could post the image of the AI detector showing a cat-snail hybrid as being 0% AI

the passive phrasing, the use of “highlights” and “picture this”, and the semi-vague final recap sentence are all hallmarks of LLMese. “Picture this” is by far the most egregious.

It’s bullshit built on top of being able to solve the problem of bullshit. This really shouldn’t be surprising unless you expected them to work in the first place in which case I think that’s on you.

In case anyone cant access the paper, its on RG https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Taha-Yasseri/publicatio...

It was published Sept 2024.

well I was around then and am around now and yeah, still writing a blog that is in no way monetised or SEO prepped. I do use OG for better search & share but thats it. built first websites en of 90s, started on Blogger in 2003 and if I had not done that I would not have done the webdev and video knowledge of my tech pivot. That changed my life and made possible everything I have done since.

Not really. Github can be great to contact the dev directly but useless for bookmarking an issue/discussion bc you can't.

Thanks for some great ideas/input.

>I actually wrote a white paper about this back in the early 2000s

If you have a copy/ summary I'd like to see it. For academic purposes only.

Sharing good content is always a good idea. Being nice in general in socmed makes a big difference.

Try not to generalise. I know plenty of people who dont have kids. We are older, we know how this pans out. If you dont have kids bc all you want to do is party and be trivial then thats ok but might not be the best reason. But if youve never seen yourself as a parent and youre kind of not really part of that usually more conventional type of life then it's probably totally logical. I know several couples who are ex musos and have lived together for decades but chose not to have children. They are as happy as anyone else. So am I.

I’m very glad its working out for you :) Although I wonder if you and your friends are in the minority or the majority.
