Power of small optimizations
I love this stuff. My time is split 50/50 between my IDE and Compiler Explorer.
Unfortunately not a lot of employers consider this a good use of time.

That's the sad side. The flipside is that for the employers that _do_ care, being able to use a profiler and repeatedly identify optimizations is considered some sort of superpower that very few of your coworkers possess. :-)
